I figured out why so many people will never understand Trump.

Television.

It's called the "CSI effect."

People think that real life is like TV.

Follow

It's truly bizarre.

People think that Trump will announce, "I'm going to pretend that everyone in my administration is undermining me, but don't worry. None of it is real."

And then we'll all sit back and giggle.

"Watch all them dopes fall for this! None of it is real!"

That's not how it works.

When you carry out clandestine operations, THEY MUST REMAIN SECRET.

You also have to LIE to cover up what's really happening.

Today is one of those days when I have no patience for the apparently indestructible inability to understand Trump.

"Traitor!"

I'm reading that everywhere. Americans have become Turks.

It's really depressing. And it goes back to the refusal to accept that Trump knows what he's doing.

The stakes are the highest they've ever been, so Trump's allies are not going to do what people do on TV.

Trump's allies are going to keep the charades going.

They're not going to say, "I was taking part in an elaborate counter-intelligence operation!"

Do you know why Trump used the army instead of the Navy SEALs to get Baghdadi?

The SEALs are all writing books.

They never stop talking.

Even McRaven had to beg them to shut up, but since he fostered this jabberwocky, he's in no position to criticize.

Most people want their butts kissed. They want applause.

AND.

They expose clandestine operations.

I know TONS of stuff that I never talk about.

It's all open source, so I COULD talk about it, but nobody else has noticed. So I'm not going to be the guy who draws everybody's attention to it.

I'll give a good example of institutionalized failure.

Lt. Russell L. Brown, US Air Force, is credited with being the first jet fighter pilot in history to shoot down another jet.

Except he didn't.

His target was Senior Lieutenant Kharitonov of the 72nd Guard Fighter Aviation Regiment (GIAP).

Kharitonov jettisoned the wing fuel tanks of his jet and went into a steep dive, so Brown thought he'd shot down the aircraft.

But Kharitonov made it home.

The date was November 8, 1950.

In reality, the first jet pilot to shoot down another jet was US Navy Lt. Commander William T. Amen of VT-111, a fighter squadron of the carrier USS Philippine Sea.

The date was November 9, 1950, and the Russian pilot was Senior Lieutenant Mikhail F. Grachev, who was killed.

The US Air Force refuses to acknowledge the mistake.

Compare THAT to the US Marines.

The marines have now admitted that for decades, they'd misidentified TWO men in this photo by Joe Rosenthal.

Until we all adopt the ethos of the marines, we're going to continue having trouble.

Life is not like TV, and history is NOT written by the victors.

History is objective reality.

As I said, I know a lot of stuff that I never talk about. You'd be shocked by how bad things have been.

But I'm not here to bring everybody down. Knowing about it won't help you. So I choose to keep the facts to myself.

Another problem is that people are deeply in love with fear and unhappiness.

I refuse to feed that vampire.

What you DON'T know WON'T hurt you.

When it's all fixed, I still won't tell you.

Some of us keep our mouths shut. Some of us LIE in order to protect operations in progress.

And when the operations are over, we never tell you what happened.

That's as it should be.

@ThomasWic

Great thread. Will you please explain your first toot in it?

Why would I not believe what Nikki Haley had to say?

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic I don't doubt she heard this,but I doubt the men were telling the truth. The leaks or real, the news is fake. Trust Trump.

I could accept that explanation but I'd like to hear what Thomas has to say.

@hbic111 @ThomasWic

@NevadaJack

What I'm saying is that we have no way of knowing what's real, and Trump has a vested interest in making people think that he's being undermined from within.

It would've taken Trump exactly three seconds to find out if his subordinates were not following his orders.

And he's not adverse to firing people.

@ThomasWic

Thank you. I now understand and have to agree with you. I often find myself believing what others have to say without considering what Trump knows and how he behaves. I need to be more alert to that.

@NevadaJack

Remember Churchill's admonition.

The Truth must be protected by a Bodyguard of Lies.

@ThomasWic

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic
We all do from time to time Jack...truth is, few understand Trump or truth as well as our Thomas...but we are greatful for both..

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic

No better place to be put in one's place than right here at QuodVerum.

"Hey Thomas, I just saw this. Made me angry/sad. Time for just a little hair on fire?"

TW: "Sure, if you don't have time for a haircut, the smoking lamp is lit. Before you do, though, here's what you didn't know.

What you didn't know #1.
What you didn't know #2.
What you didn't know #3.
...
...
What you didn't know #15.

Now either calm down or stew in it til your pressure cooker blows."

@StevenDouglas @NevadaJack

My greatest flaw is impatience.

I'm not ANGRY at people, and I don't feel contempt for them.

But I'm impatient.

I want to do THIS to them.

"We choke-a to death the capitalism. And stop calling me señor. I'm-a the señora, you know. A lady!"

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic

I was being hyperbolic.

I don't think you could really get a Trademark on those 2 words.

But he's probably said them on TV more than any body else.

I was leary but I wouldn't put it past Trump to be able to do it.

@trueblueTEX @ThomasWic

@ThomasWic @NevadaJack reminds me of the hilarious “campaign headquarters” at Trump tower. A dinky office and dinky posters and two crappy folding chairs or something like that. His opponents thought his campaign was such a joke that it changed their strategy, made them complacet. If Trump’s enemies believe he is already under attack from within, they’ll focus their energy elsewhere.

@Kauffman

And there was a huge white board on the wall to the right as you walked in.

Scrawled across the top was:

"Let Trump be Trump."

Best ever. Bar none.

“Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self Reliance

@CaptainMarble @ThomasWic @Kauffman @NevadaJack
You are correct that it may not be bad to be misunderstood.

I believe Thomas's frustration comes from people's inability to learn even when it's been explained to them 5,000 times

I suffer from the same issue

@ThomasWic @Kauffman @NevadaJack to quote an English football manager “they mis-underestimated me”.

@ThomasWic @NevadaJack

Yes, the apex of every Apprentice episode:

"You're fired.'

His detractors must forget that, even though they ridiculed him for being only a reality TV star.

@ThomasWic @NevadaJack @Wendy I shared the amazing NYT article about Trump from the 80’s Thomas posted (posted again for those who missed it, see below) with a woman calling him the usual, dummy, clown, etc. Her response? “See, you had to go back to 1984 to find this article.” 🤦‍♀️

2 more women were swearing Trump was racist, homophobe, etc. When I asked them how they know this they sent me a link to an leftist article they read.

Twitter isn’t sending their best folks.

@God_Bless_The_US @NevadaJack @Wendy

They're a minority.

I saw a video of two young urban black guys speaking with authority on the Ukraine hoax.

They're following it closely.

Trump in a landslide.

@God_Bless_The_US @ThomasWic @NevadaJack @Wendy
Saw this for the first time...it was a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it...thank you for reposting it for those of us that missed it the first time, much appreciated...

@ThomasWic @NevadaJack

The main tell is someone who Trump was closely allied with leaves & writes/tells a ridiculous story of the inner workings of the administration. If you know DJT's history it's obvious it's bullshit. This fuels the dims flames that DJT is an idiot, i.e. it reinforces their belief & makes them incapable of realizing they are being outwitted. I can't believe he keeps using this tactic & they fall for it every time. They are so dumb that he doesn't have to change tactics.

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic

One of my best all time friends was one of the original Leap Frogs decorated personally by JFK.

I did not know this until I was invited to his home for a dinner and as he called it, sit on the porch and throw rocks at cars. The house was 1/4 mile from the road.

His wife had collected all of his medals and made a display for them that set over the fireplace.

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic

What Nikki is saying is cloak and dagger, whether she is in on it or not. Either Kelly was testing her. Or, she is promoting disinformation. The former I would guess.

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic btw, I responded to this before I saw the "response" thread. If TW doesn't push back on my response, it makes sense to what Thomas said.

I also thought of that and think you're right. The fact she failed to tell Trump (if that's even true) means she failed the test.

A third option is that she lied in her book (with Trump's knowledge) to further confuse and distract the "enemy".

@dpgagner @ThomasWic

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic

Trump is endorsing her book. "Go out and buy it". He must be having fun messing with everyone's perception. "The general who thoroughly understands the advantages that accompany variation of tactics knows how to handle his troops." Sun Tzu

@NevadaJack @ThomasWic Last to know-first to go perhaps?

@ChaplainEric Like the phrase, better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. @ThomasWic

Keep your enemies close. Never close enough to use anything against you.Taking care of Business and reaping the rewards of a job well done is enough for me.
