Bidet keeps repeating a story about how when he was a kid his family sat around the "kitchen table" worrying about the price of gasoline.
I don't remember EVER worrying about the price of gasoline when I was a kid. When I started driving in 1959 gasoline was about 30 cents per gallon.
@gerrybrabant
The first time I became aware of the price of gasoline was in Fresno, California, summer of 1969.
My friend had a go-kart that he let everyone ride on our street. It had a one quart gas tank that seemed to last forever on a single fill. To me that was magic. I had to how much THAT much fun cost.
26 cents a gallon for leaded. Four fills at 6 1/2 cents for each full tank. Ridiculous, I was shocked.
