Americans are infamous for ignoring problems until the house burns down.
Or the entire community burns down.

On February 7, 2018, Donald John Trump ordered the destruction of an entire Russian Mobile Detachment Combat Group (MDCG) of over 600 men.
Deir Ezzor, Syria.
The MDCG suffered 100 percent casualties.
Half were wounded, and half were killed.
Putin kept pushing in Syria.
We'd reached the point at which Russians were SHOOTING at Americans.
Daily.
So Trump set a trap. We did nothing at all until February 7, 2018.
Trump said, "SCREW 'proportionality.' Teach them a lesson they'll never forget."
Guess what Putin did in retaliation?
He surrendered and left Syria.
Trump ended a ritual going back decades.
Why?
Because Trump values American lives. It's too bad that 300+ Russians were killed, but these were not angels.
Tapes of the survivors' phone calls to Moscow were leaked.
"The Yankees knew we were coming," one guy said. "They sent their message all right."
Remember:
Russia was on a bender.
Drunk with power.
Trump stopped Vlad in his tracks.
"You're alive because I allow you to live," Trump said.
The reality is that sometimes you bomb evildoers so that we don't have a much BIGGER conflict later.
People talk about sending in commandos instead.
And then if they get killed, you'll bitch about THAT.
We don't have time for this childish self-indulgence. The world is a dangerous, cold, heartless place.
People who complain about bombing couldn't even tell you what kinds of munitions there are.
Most of them are now low-yield and precision guided.
AND.
If you mind your p's and q's, you don't get bombs dropped on you.
Not by the US, that is.
Assad and Putin deliberately target civilians, an unambiguous war crime.
But plenty of Americans admire Assad and Putin.
We're like a nation of drunk children. We have no idea what we want.
We HAD the perfect answer: TRUMP.
But look how few people actually had faith in him.
Disgraceful.
Embarrassing.
If we'd parachuted Sean Ono Lennon into the arms of those Iraqi terrorists instead of dropping bombs on them, they would've ransomed him and then beheaded him.
He would've died screaming, "WHY DIDN'T YOU BOMB THESE BASTARDS?!"

@ThomasWic I believe for the long term, Trump has set the stage for destroying conventional 'politically indoctrinated insight' into foreign policy, among many other things.
This may take some time...there's no doubt I keep resetting what little I thought I knew about politics and world affairs.
But...growing up struggling in that false rift of 'left' vs 'right'...the pieces are slowly coming together now.

@ThomasWic because of our press at home during the Vietnam "War", many a combat vet ended up in Long Binh Jail. Our soldiers are not supposed to be animals (at 18 or 19 they're supposed to be in better control?) I silently cheer for our soldiers and have no problem if they're pissing on corpses. I live with what I did in Vietnam; it is what it is.
