@ThomasWic Exactly. Trump's not a man who wastes his own time. Why bother if Biden is going to assume the office of POTUS? He'd undo these last-minute efforts and make Trump look like an idiot.

@johnauston My guess is certain muckety mucks will be shown evidence of their own deep involvement with the CCP. After that happens, resistance is gone. And there will be a WHOLE lot of resignations.

No, they don't. The second he appeared atop those escalators that glorious June day, I told my hubby, "There's your next President." Friends thought I was nuts, hated him. I have no frame of ref of Trump on reality TV. I only know of Trump, the real estate mogul & billionaire who lost it all, only to become one again. To this day, all they see/hear are the brutal truths he put on Twatter. They still can't/won't grasp all the successes they are now enjoying, are by Trump.

Same story, I never knew Trump as a reality tv star. His book The Art of the Deal was required reading for me in a management class in grad school, so I simply cannot relate to those who see him as a lightweight.
He’s the real deal, and is a genius in the business world. One lacks credibility if they cannot at least admit this imo.

@ThomasWic I went into Whitehouse.gov site earlier today and when I opened the first link, it was surprising to see how much he did. You can't just skim the link title. There's more than meets the eye.
Everything now suggests to me that Biden, Harris AND Pelosi are ALL are about to be disqualified.
Impeachment was supposed to be an attempt to counter to that disqualification with one of their own.
Acting President Pompeo anyone? He's sure has been acting...Presidential lately.
Perhaps but what I find bumfuzzling is that they thought that impeachment might somehow work.
Did they actually think McConnell would bring the Senate into an emergency session? Did Pelosi even bother to contact him before forging ahead with this scheme?
She did, and McConnell responded that the first day the Senate could likely schedule a trial would be the 19th of January.
Pelosi may have been hoping against desperate hope that things would get so ugly that all of Congress would band quickly together to destroy Trump.
Crushed culturally, politically and internationally.

Pompeo becomes interim President, proceeds as long as necessary for Trump's victory to become proven, Trump retakes the office.

Under the Succession Act, the Speaker of the House is first in line to Acting POTUS if there is no qualifying Pres or VP-elect, but must resign her seat. (SOS is third). And this Acting position only lasts so long as it takes to elect a Pres in a contingent election--one vote per state.

After those elected offices, the order of succession is: Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, Secretary of War, Attorney General, Postmaster General, Secretary of the Navy, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Labor.

My only strong sense is that Biden and Harris will be disqualified before noon on January 20th.

No, Trump could also be elected by State delegations, one vote per state.

That was political - optics - not legal. He meant prove it to the American public who see through it all.
That has no bearing on who would be acting President after his [first] term expires.
