"In 1973, Rosenhan published the paper “On Being Sane in Insane Places” in the prestigious journal Science, and it was a sensation. The study, in which eight healthy volunteers went undercover as “pseudopatients” in 12 psychiatric hospitals across the country, discovered harrowing conditions that led to national outrage.

"His findings helped expedite the widespread closure of psychiatric institutions across the country, changing mental health care in the US forever."

There's no evidence that these mistreated volunteers existed.

The writer located one person who was dropped from the experiment and whose views were not published.

Harry Lando said that his experience was positive.

"“The hospital seemed to have a calming effect. Someone might come in agitated and then fairly quickly they would tend to calm down. It was a benign environment."

Americans demanded that state and federal mental hospitals be closed based on the raving of an LSD addict and a lying university professor.

We need to return to how we were before World War II.

Yes, there were problems, but most Americans were like Trump.

World War II scrambled the thought processes of Americans and made them susceptible to the most destructive ideology ever invented:

The Great Depression started the process, and World War II finished it.

The push to deinstitutionalize the severely mentally ill was itself insane.

And Americans fell for it because they were becoming mentally weak.

It's astonishing.

This weakness impacts everything. It's the reason why so many Trump "supporters" have daily panic attacks.

No. You're just another weak-minded American.

This person needs to be locked up forever.

She's physically violent. and she's verbally incoherent.

"I’m like half-naked. I was on my way home from brunch with my friends. There’s people on the corner antagonizing the city I live in, work in. This has been my whole life. I’ve always had to be the person to show...to try... You don’t know what Donald Trump is, I don’t agree with Trump."

"Oh, we must close the hospitals, because they're CRUEL."

Look around you.

Some lunatic just stabbed her son 18 times and had to be shot to death by the cops.

We MUST reopen state and federal mental hospitals, and we MUST allow for long-term, or PERMANENT involuntary commitment.

We simply learn to live with homicidal maniacs in our midst.

Thank you, Thomas. The more we pay attention, the more we see the insanity around us. It is unnerving.

@ThomasWic liberals want to know can the homicidal maniacs vote from a mental hospital? After all it's a 1/3 of their base.

But.....but... tolerance!!!! And don’t forget the isms. Those isms are to be denounced and reviled universally. Even the mere appearance of an ism is grounds for being cancelled. No proof required, no excuses accepted, accusation is conviction. Embrace the madness or it will consume you. You couldn’t build a facility big enough to house them all. This is why I cling to Trump like I do. He’s our last best hope. The alternatives scare the hell out of me.

@ThomasWic I think the latter is already the outcome unfortunately

It could be argued that reconstituting Capital Punishment would do a lot to curb the homicide rate in the USA.
Seeing as how the mentally ill who commit Mass Shooting is a small fraction of the Total occurrences
Since People are not learning the Sanctity of Life . . or Personal Responsibility . . . perhaps the Criminal Justice System could highlight those Principles.

We only get one choice- we must choose wisely.

I choose #1

@ThomasWic I'm sure the Leftists will make her into a victim. She was just mentally disturbed! Couldn't you shoot the knife out of her hands?

Last Friday PM, in my hometown, a deputy was forced to shoot a 38 year old man who could not commit suicide so he rushed the deputies with a gun drawn.

He was shot an killed.

Obviously the man more than likely had issues.

Now the deputy, the family, & friends must live with this for the rest of their lives.

Perhaps if there had been mental health care this would have never happened.

Very Sad.

I deal with lunatics every day now. On the streets, subways, buses. In the park. It keeps getting worse. My teens don't even complain anymore that my husband and I accompany on their way to most activities.

@hejoural @ThomasWic

Me too! Some lunatic was blocking the street so we couldn't make a left hand turn. Just standing there waving his arms.

@ThomasWic when you're right you're right. On this topic, you are absolutely right.

The elephant is literally sitting on us and we cannot see it

@ThomasWic I remember when the push began to close state and federal mental institutions and release the patients to the street. It made no sense then and now we have daily evidence that @ThomasWic is 100% correct that these facilities need reopening. It's inhumane to allow our mentally ill to live, actually barely survive, on the street.

a life long psych nurse...we tried to tell them this would be the result, as we sat in the meetings w the feds on the placement of our severely mentally ill. Many communities have personality disorders/mentally ill members that escape any type of evaluation bc of our new social mores. It’s racist. Started my career in ‘79 n we were already phasing out the ‘bughousers’ (untrained workers before a license was required)

We talk about the violent ones but many more were victimized by being deinstitutionalized. One flew over the cuckoos nest wasn’t reality but most viewed it as if it was.

Has been my opinion since the beginning, anyone who has had to deal with mentally ill family members knows what a travesty the system became.

@FramingDeity @ThomasWic

It's horrible. There have been a few in my family, and one died of a suicide. Devastating.

@Lisa22 @ThomasWic
have had a number of problems in family and suicides of a couple of members. All predicted by clinical psychiatrist but unable to get help for individuals due to changing laws.

Logan's Run.

Instead of vaporizing them at the age of 35, they get a mental health test at 18. Fail, and off to the asylum. Be violent, THEN get vaporized.

@Watcher9 @ThomasWic

I LOVE Logan's Run. So few folks have seen it. It was filmed here, in Dallas. 😁

@ThomasWic Thank you Thomas.
Living with a loved one who suffered with bipolar disorder
(initially manic depressive) and
not being able to find proper
care for him was frustrating
and painful - for both of us.
IF ONLY there had been a
facility that he could have had
inpatient care.....He died of an
overdose in 2018. May he RIP.

It's humane, bat ish should not run lives ... especially little ones. I know, my Mom was bat ish.

I don't agree with you willy nilly. First of all you'd hate it. Anyhoo, you are absolutely right.

Right. Let's give every "lunatic" deluxe accommodations. A nice hotel room. All meals provided. All the free drugs they want. And, the best part, the state will confiscate your income to pay for all of it. To keep you safe.

The audio of the child in the background during the 911 call is haunting and heartbreaking. Cannot even fathom the level of demented cruelty, terror, and devastation that little boy has had to endure.

As Prosperity & Stability return to the World...

the DEMONS still demand to be FED.

As our lives improve & rise, there are those who are descending into Hell.

All I'm going to say it the Lower Emotions the Left is demanding we WALLOW in serve MANY purposes.

Well said Thomas.

'The Deep State microchipped us all at birth and control us using laser beams from outer space. The End is Nigh!'

The melodrama is unbelievable isn't it?

Typical criminal pretending to not be able to breathe, while breathing. Also claiming to be half-naked, while fully dressed.

I would love to take her apart for an hour, word by word, because I'm pretty sure I can show everything she says is a lie.

Professor of lies.

"This has been my whole life. I've always had to be the person...to show."

Incoherent blather. She's a psychopath in charge of your kids, and you pay for the privilege.

Notice how I snuck in a gender assumption?

She said “I’ve always had to be the person to fight. You don’t know what Donald Trump is. I DONE AGREE WITH TRUMP”

I didn’t agree with Obama! But I didn’t attack ppl who did. She’s a lunatic!
