"President Trump Reveals ***That The First Day He First Came Into Office, General Mattias Revealed To Him That The US Military Was VERY LOW on Ammunition (Very Low As In NONE!!)"
When my nephew was in the army under Obama, they NEVER had target practice.
Under Obama, the US Air Force had to find spare parts from museum static displays.
Ashton Carter lowered and in some cases abolished physical-fitness standards.
For the first time in their history, the Green Berets had fat soldiers.
Trump's goal is to break the pattern.
We build up the military and then tear it down.
Five years after World War II, we had the Korean War.
We were totally unprepared.
When the Korean War began, our air force was using mostly World War II vintage equipment, and our ground troops had horrible training.
See, the braniacs at the Pentagon said that the only thing we needed was nuclear weapons.
ICBMs and strategic bombers.
The North Koreans called our bluff. Since we of course couldn't use nukes on them when they invaded South Korea, we had to rebuild our armed forces.
This cycle has continued up to the present day.
Trump is gambling that the Third Revolution in Military Affairs (3RMA) will end the buildup-destruction-buildup-destruction of the armed forces.
We now have two Multi Domain Task Forces (MDTFs).
These are army units that fight on land, in the air, on the sea, in the cyber realm, and on social media.
They're the model for all future combat units of all branches of service.
By training all members of the armed forces to fight the same way, we will be able to survive the election of anti-American presidents.
You can't put the multi-domain genie back into the bottle.
We can thank Israel and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
They're sharing technology that will put us decades ahead of China and Russia.
Tusli Gabbard can cram it.
Trump defeated her.
My dad told of doing stuff like that in training for WW2: live fire training.
Sitting in a tent with a gas mask at the ready but not on.
Then they dumped tear gas into the tent. After some time the soldiers were allowed to put their masks on.
Amidst yelling and noise they were run out of the tent and forced to cram their arms into 55 gallon barrels filled with animal guts and blood.
They were not forewarned on any of what would happen.
Thanks for addressing this post, you pointed out things that I didn't know. Great thread.
Hey Thomas, if you aren't familiar with Col Robin Olds (died a Brig Gen I believe) you should read about him.
WW2 fighter pilot. Said we'd always need fighters. SAC said "bullshit". He missed out on Korea but went to Vietnam as an F4 squadron leader. He said the F4 needed machine guns.
He had run ins with the Brass that said only bombers and nukes were the future.
Check out Dick Jonas' song "Ballad of Robin Olds".
When I served in the 24th Infantry Division, it was clear they'd never forget Task Force Smith. The horrific account of their fate was required reading for leaders assigned to the 24th.
While soldiers were sincere in never allowing "another Task Force Smith" to happen - with good reason, the reality is they were at the mercy of their leadership.
Oh, and Ash Carter was spineless 0bama leg humper, too.
Those who label words as violence do so with the sole purpose of justifying violence against words.
