I'm working on a video that will analyze openness versus secrecy in three Middle Eastern battles:

Shijayya (2014)
Third Battle of Fallujah (2016)
Mosul (2017)

This will be a video viewable only by those who make a donation.

So figure out how to get that done.

It's going to be a few days, but this'll be my best effort yet.

@ThomasWic @Debradelai

A humble request to Thomas & Saul:

Please make the video viewable to all whenever you deemed fit. I, personally, am very eager to view and learn.

Thanks in advance!

@ThomasWic @Debradelai
Great idea Thomas...I'm in...pledging my donation as soon as I get the info ...

It needs to be made available to be viewed only by people who have the correct link, or by putting it in a place that it password protected.

A friend of mine sends me his movies and documentaries that way.

The most secure is to put it in a place that is password protected, because once a link is sent out, that person can give it to someone else, so that link is only secure for a period of time.

You can tell if it has been exposed by the count though.

@ilumanous @ThomasWic

We are creating a new section of the website for donors only.

Those who make this place possible will have access to exclusive material. It's only fair.

We started work on the password section of the website. It will take a couple of weeks.

It could be faster, but without funds upfront it's on an "as time permits" schedule.

When it's ready, current subscribers will receive an email invitation to create a password.

It'll take a while to make the video.

You'll be very happy.

@Debradelai @ThomasWic as a computer tech I’m thankful for your work on the security

@Debradelai @ThomasWic

As a current subscriber, I’m excited about this new upgrade. It’s an incentive for those who enjoy and learn from SQV to subscribe if possible and help keep this great forum going and growing.

I consider my subscription as an investment in my continuing education with so many knowledgeable teachers here.

And also you Quods are a stellar group of people.

@Debradelai @Torchbearer Haha! I will do my best to remember. But I’m sure I will see other quads mentioning it. Thank you very much. 👍

@Debradelai @ilumanous @ThomasWic

In the days when the newspaper was the order of the day, how much would one spend each month to have their morning paper, for news that was days old and always had a liberal slant?

How many looked forward to the Sunday paper simply for the ad flyers? A Sunday paper was what, $1.50-$3.00 depending on where you lived.

@Krissy_Caster70 @Debradelai @ilumanous @ThomasWic

Yep. I was one of his charter subscribers. Bck in the days when the American Spectator was a serious publication.

@ThomasWic @Debradelai

Roger that. Standing by.
I assume this does not include the regularly scheduled donation?

@EngOnDemand @ThomasWic

All current donors will be able to log in.

Going forward, only donors will have access to that section of the website.

@EngOnDemand @Debradelai

The plan is to encourage donations by offering donors material that only they can see.

We need to increase the percentage of people who make donations.

The current setup won't be changed for all viewers.

We're just going to ADD a section for donors.

@ThomasWic @Debradelai
I fully support the idea of special content for donors. You gents put a ton of time into deep analysis on some topics. Im sure it is not easy or free to you.

I already make a small 1 time donation when you publish something i find really useful/interesting. So looking forward to more!

@ThomasWic @Debradelai

A couple of thoughts:

1) Set up a Patreon account so that folks can support your work with monthly donations. Patrons get access to exclusive content.

Downside: All new accounts go through an approval process before being accepted to the platform.

2) Move your domain to a hosting service that has e-commerce capability. Folks can then purchase and download the video. Watermark it or have the purchaser sign a non-disclosure agreement during purchase.

@EarlThePearls @ThomasWic @Debradelai Patreon is only one option. I have no idea what kind of resources Saul and Thomas have available to them, so I thought I’d mention it. For starving artists such as myself, Patreon is the only option I know of that allows folks who want to support me to do so easily. If there are others, I’d love to know about them.

@spinmaven @ThomasWic @Debradelai

I only wondered why because it is already set up to accept PayPal.

Since I have been using that for a LONG time now, I don't like to leave my financial info in any more places than necessary.

I have no inherent bias against Patreon, except that they have shut people off in the past they didn't like

@spinmaven @EarlThePearls @ThomasWic

Let's say that far from being the only, Patreon is NO option.

Not even close.

Thank you for the advise, though.

@DefiantAmerica @ThomasWic

If everyone set up a monthly donation of as little as $5.00 a month, that would take care of the cost to run this wonderful platform.

Given the supreme quality of past efforts, that's saying something!!
Standing watch.

@ThomasWic @Debradelai

A donation to SQV, or the QV website, or somewhere else?

I already have a monthly donation set up for SQV, I hope that would qualify me to pass the paywall.

@Watcher9 @ThomasWic @Debradelai
I make a monthly donation once a month when my monthly check gets deposited into my bank account

@Dawnz @Watcher9 @ThomasWic

All donations to Quodverum and SQV go to the same place.

I never scrutinize it, bal all are kept in a database, all donors will use their email and create a password.

@Debradelai @Watcher9 @ThomasWic
@Debradelai- Thanks Saul..This platform has become really important to so many of us as we learn togetther

@ThomasWic @Debradelai
Go to the page, there's a Yellow "Support Us" Pill at the top, click on that,
