About damn time people are starting to wake up to this Socialist Dim BS crap (literally). Now do we have enough people in CA any longer that isn't on some form of welfare aid to bring the Republican Party to lead the House, Senate and Governorship to lead the state? I doubt it but I'm sure going to push for it.

@JM

A lot of welfare sucking the life out of this state and Dims just keep dishing more. Makes you wonder just how low they're willing to go.

@Elaines2cents @JM

Death spiral sad to say. Could be fixed, maybe, but it would require a lot of sacrifice some thing so many are not going to be willing to accept.

@Buddy

They are willing to tax every last penny, totally eliminate the middle-class. The wealthy will just move funds and protect themselves, the poor have no money.

@Elaines2cents

@JM
And when the poor have less and less money they become the "slave class" to the elite... at least that's the goal of the leftists here.
@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@mariel

True, create dependence, Socialism an easier sell! Indoctrination, from education in class. Convincing parents and students to borrow money for a worthless education and burdening them with debt.

@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM
Higher education has been pushed as the "answer to all your problems". I can't count how many times I heard growing up that all I need to be successful is to go to college and get a degree... and that's it! No advice on how to save, manage the debt, what degrees to choose, etc. And staff advises students to take out the maximum amount the loans allow. Insanity
@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@mariel

So true, growing up very poor I learned from my parents mistakes. I have always been very careful with money and wait until I can afford something and get the best deal at hand. Out of eight of us, not all learned this, to each their own.

@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM

Amen. I've learned from my parents/grandparents that if I can't pay cash for it....I don't need it.

@mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@Tatonka

Exactly. It shocks everywhere we purchase, no credit card! πŸ˜ƒ Waiting for the right opportunity, usually works out for us when making major purchases. We had been looking to replace our living room furniture for two years. We wanted top grain leather and quality manufacture. The wait was worth it, one of the places we would purchase from went out of business. We saved 75% on a stationary leather sofa and recliner both close to top line.

Years ago my fiancee wanted a custom leather couch set for her wedding present from Arizona Leather. We went in 3-4 times speaking with various people but they refused to budge on the price and wanted us to finance it through them....I just laughed.

I went back the last 2 days of the month with HALF the total cost in cash in an envelope offering it as payment......first salesperson said sorry...can't do it for that. My wife was so embarrassed....told her someone there is hurting for a sale. Went back the last day of the month and I found the poor SOB. He took it! πŸ˜‚

We still have the couches too πŸ˜‚
@mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@Tatonka

I looked at Arizona Leather online, there prices are high.

When purchasing bedroom suite, I bartered with a local middleman and saved 60% with free white glove delivery.

@mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@Lonestar

πŸ˜‚ No, requires all set up. Like assembling the bed itself. They dang headboard weighs 300lbs.

@Tatonka @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM @Tatonka @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents - just think it'd be funny of a couple burly looking guys jumped off a delivery truck wearing white gloves. πŸ˜‚

@Lonestar @JM @Tatonka @mariel @Elaines2cents

That beats the heck out of a couple of burly looking women delivering. HaHa

@thegoldenpanda

Sadly, you cannot trust brand names anymore with most furniture. You have to go into your purchase with full knowledge of the construction. So many cannot or will not spend the money for quality, that is fine if replacement if five years is what you like. Not me, I want these last purchases to outlive us. I believe they will. 😊

@Lonestar @Tatonka @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM @thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents -North Carolina used to be known for the quality furniture makers based there.

@Lonestar

Fortunately that is where we live, you still have to be very careful! I find purchasing through a middleman, that deals directly with manufacturing is the best way to save money.

@thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@Lonestar @JM @thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel @Elaines2cents

Remember that so well and seeing it when traveling there to Black Mountain.

@Lonestar @JM @thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel @Buddy

Which is why, after I do my research, I typically buy from them and have the furniture shipped to me in CA.

@Elaines2cents

Yep, and oops here! hope I didn't offend you yesterday by calling CA a death spiral state.

@Lonestar @JM @thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel

@Buddy @Lonestar @JM @thegoldenpanda @Tatonka @mariel

Not at all. My eyes have been wide open with this state for a few decades now.

@JM

Exactly. I'm not a big consumer but If I buy something, I want quality and for it to last. We're a dying breed....we live in a throw away society.

@thegoldenpanda @Lonestar @mariel @Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM

Best couch set i've ever owned. They even come to the house to polish/clean re-stuff the cushions if needed.

They still look brand new if you can believe that. πŸ˜‚
