This is Poppy. Hes 96 now. He served in WW2 as a rear gunner on an SB2C Helldiver. He has led a life of integrity second to only Jesus. He has always amazed me of how honest, selfless, genuine, and generous he is. I've never in my whole life known anyone who could come close. He's part of the greatest generation. Today, I learned he may pass tonight.. He is weak. Getting pneumonia. He says he is ready. He's tired. If God puts it on your heart, please pray for him to be pain free & comforted.
He passed this evening peacefully with two of his daughters with him. Thank you to all here who prayed and left messages for my Poppy. With all the chaos and turmoil of thr world the last few days, none mattered but Poppy. If we all could love, forgive, persevere, overcome, and be generous and trustworthy as Poppy and put love of God, others and country at the top of our list... this world would change so much for the better. I hope I can come close to living the life he did.

Should he pass, may there be a vast group of loved ones to escort him to G-d’s perfect and peaceful Heaven. He and others made incredible sacrifices and showed such courage to save so many lives during WW2 Including my father’s. Tell him a special thank you for his service, from me.

I'm grateful for all the warm responses and prayers. My heart hurts. He taught me so much, including critical thinking. He also worked in thr CIA after the war. He's a hero to all of America, but to me.... he's my Poppy
