About damn time people are starting to wake up to this Socialist Dim BS crap (literally). Now do we have enough people in CA any longer that isn't on some form of welfare aid to bring the Republican Party to lead the House, Senate and Governorship to lead the state? I doubt it but I'm sure going to push for it.

@JM

A lot of welfare sucking the life out of this state and Dims just keep dishing more. Makes you wonder just how low they're willing to go.

@Elaines2cents @JM

Death spiral sad to say. Could be fixed, maybe, but it would require a lot of sacrifice some thing so many are not going to be willing to accept.

@Buddy

They are willing to tax every last penny, totally eliminate the middle-class. The wealthy will just move funds and protect themselves, the poor have no money.

@Elaines2cents

@JM
And when the poor have less and less money they become the "slave class" to the elite... at least that's the goal of the leftists here.
@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@mariel

True, create dependence, Socialism an easier sell! Indoctrination, from education in class. Convincing parents and students to borrow money for a worthless education and burdening them with debt.

@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@JM
Higher education has been pushed as the "answer to all your problems". I can't count how many times I heard growing up that all I need to be successful is to go to college and get a degree... and that's it! No advice on how to save, manage the debt, what degrees to choose, etc. And staff advises students to take out the maximum amount the loans allow. Insanity
@Buddy @Elaines2cents

@mariel @JM @Buddy @Elaines2cents me too but not quite a bad as this generation. I was class of 89. I had to pay my way. When I went the financial aid people tried to convince me of loans .. I refused .. I said if I cannot pay it myself , I will not go. I ended up getting two years done and then my career with my full time job took off ... sometimes I regret leaving school but I made far more then my friend who is an attorney did for many years and just now is she now moved ahead of my pay

@inverness01 @mariel @JM @Buddy

Similar happened with my son. The plan was 2 yrs at community college to get the basics and then transfer to complete the rest for the degree. 1 yr into community college and my son's part time job offered a full time position at nearly $100k. Big bucks for a 19 year old. Even decent money today. He's never looked back 😉

@Elaines2cents

He obviously had what it took, an education would of only delayed his success! You must be so proud. 😊

I am. He's in the tech industry so he's paid well when he's working. Too many H1B Visa recipients have flooded his industry and it makes getting, holding and working hard on him. Being a Republican in a land of liberal buffoons doesn't help either.

@Elaines2cents

True and H1B holder's will take less money. Many see if they let go an intelligent hard worker, the Visa worker in the long run cost them more.

@inverness01 @mariel @Buddy

@JM

That is true in most cases. There were cases where a qualified person did the interview for another H1B applicant for the hiring process. Once the H1B was hired for the job or project, it became apparent that person did not have the qualifications nor was the person that they had interviewed.

I knew many in the tech industry working for the banks. Most projects took at least twice as long and were not up to standards. So many of the people displaced had to train the replacement to receive severance. Just sad! Now many have returned to those banks, trying to clean up the mess left behind.

@Elaines2cents @inverness01 @mariel @Buddy

@JM @Sarah_Roberts @inverness01 @mariel @Buddy

And I doubt they've learned any lessons from the experience.

BofA was sending their loan documentation from borrowers to a company in India for review. That was the last straw for me. Lord knows who obtained private information to sell out for a few extra bucks each month. Not saying it couldn't happen here but at least you can prosecute the thieves in a US court.

@Elaines2cents

So true, many of the larger banks were. I believe that is how they got away with the BS Mortgage meltdown. They couldn't even lay their hands on the original documents. People who fought them won, just for that reason!

@Sarah_Roberts @inverness01 @mariel @Buddy

@JM

My sister was an operations vice president of a bank and boy the stories she had to share about all of this. I will share some of it for you in the future. She was employed during this time and the things that happened were mind boggling.

Most didn't begin to transfer docs off site until after the meltdown which is even more disturbing. I have to wonder if the public would stand for this if they had a clue it was happening.

The lost docs weren't due to shipping offsite. All docs are scanned in the US and then sent electronically to be reviewed. $5 an hr in India v $15 in the US saves big bucks

Lost docs from the meltdown was primarily the multiple transfers and chain of custody.

@Elaines2cents @JM @Sarah_Roberts @inverness01 @mariel @Buddy
I never understood all that was going on,just vaguely..This thread has been an eye opener to say the least!

@Elaines2cents

IMO the docs were not lost but refusal to hand over such docs. Sort of like the Clinton emails.

One private mortgage company had their own political strategy. The husband donated 5 million to Bush campaign while his wife donated similar money to opposing candidate. After the election the husband was given an ambassador position to the Netherlands.

@JM @inverness01 @mariel @Buddy

@Elaines2cents

LOL There you go a light bulb moment. His company was in business for sub prime mortgages that was involved in the mortgage/housing meltdown.

The government allocates 65.000 H1B visas without any documentation that the positions cannot be filled with qualified residents of the US.

Here is a link to the top 100 companies that sponsor H1B visas.
