The tree just to the left of the historical marker is the one in Cuylerville, NY, where in 1779, Lt. Thomas Boyd was tortured and killed when Seneca chief Little Beard disemboweled him, tied his intestines around the tree and forced him to run around it. No doubt Little Beard did this because he felt that his people were misunderstood, marginalized and oppressed by the evil pale faces who eventually whipped the *rses of all his people.
