About damn time people are starting to wake up to this Socialist Dim BS crap (literally). Now do we have enough people in CA any longer that isn't on some form of welfare aid to bring the Republican Party to lead the House, Senate and Governorship to lead the state? I doubt it but I'm sure going to push for it.
I hope the good people of CA, save the state.
Higher education has been pushed as the "answer to all your problems". I can't count how many times I heard growing up that all I need to be successful is to go to college and get a degree... and that's it! No advice on how to save, manage the debt, what degrees to choose, etc. And staff advises students to take out the maximum amount the loans allow. Insanity
Exactly. It shocks everywhere we purchase, no credit card! 😃 Waiting for the right opportunity, usually works out for us when making major purchases. We had been looking to replace our living room furniture for two years. We wanted top grain leather and quality manufacture. The wait was worth it, one of the places we would purchase from went out of business. We saved 75% on a stationary leather sofa and recliner both close to top line.
I went back the last 2 days of the month with HALF the total cost in cash in an envelope offering it as payment......first salesperson said sorry...can't do it for that. My wife was so embarrassed....told her someone there is hurting for a sale. Went back the last day of the month and I found the poor SOB. He took it! 😂
Sadly, you cannot trust brand names anymore with most furniture. You have to go into your purchase with full knowledge of the construction. So many cannot or will not spend the money for quality, that is fine if replacement if five years is what you like. Not me, I want these last purchases to outlive us. I believe they will. 😊
@mariel @JM @Buddy @Elaines2cents me too but not quite a bad as this generation. I was class of 89. I had to pay my way. When I went the financial aid people tried to convince me of loans .. I refused .. I said if I cannot pay it myself , I will not go. I ended up getting two years done and then my career with my full time job took off ... sometimes I regret leaving school but I made far more then my friend who is an attorney did for many years and just now is she now moved ahead of my pay
Similar happened with my son. The plan was 2 yrs at community college to get the basics and then transfer to complete the rest for the degree. 1 yr into community college and my son's part time job offered a full time position at nearly $100k. Big bucks for a 19 year old. Even decent money today. He's never looked back 😉
I will say that my nephew just followed that same process and he recently graduated from Long Beach State. His degree did make a difference when he was chosen as one of the few out of thousands of applicants for the Police Academy. It's important that kids have a discussion with members of their field of interest before making a decision as to what level of education they need to shoot for.
That is true in most cases. There were cases where a qualified person did the interview for another H1B applicant for the hiring process. Once the H1B was hired for the job or project, it became apparent that person did not have the qualifications nor was the person that they had interviewed.
I knew many in the tech industry working for the banks. Most projects took at least twice as long and were not up to standards. So many of the people displaced had to train the replacement to receive severance. Just sad! Now many have returned to those banks, trying to clean up the mess left behind.
And I doubt they've learned any lessons from the experience.
BofA was sending their loan documentation from borrowers to a company in India for review. That was the last straw for me. Lord knows who obtained private information to sell out for a few extra bucks each month. Not saying it couldn't happen here but at least you can prosecute the thieves in a US court.
Most didn't begin to transfer docs off site until after the meltdown which is even more disturbing. I have to wonder if the public would stand for this if they had a clue it was happening.
The lost docs weren't due to shipping offsite. All docs are scanned in the US and then sent electronically to be reviewed. $5 an hr in India v $15 in the US saves big bucks
Lost docs from the meltdown was primarily the multiple transfers and chain of custody.
IMO the docs were not lost but refusal to hand over such docs. Sort of like the Clinton emails.
One private mortgage company had their own political strategy. The husband donated 5 million to Bush campaign while his wife donated similar money to opposing candidate. After the election the husband was given an ambassador position to the Netherlands.
The government allocates 65.000 H1B visas without any documentation that the positions cannot be filled with qualified residents of the US.
Here is a link to the top 100 companies that sponsor H1B visas.
Those who label words as violence do so with the sole purpose of justifying violence against words.
