This is a twofer. The cashier who always gives me problems, I went to her line only because it was shorter but she said, "You can't be in my line without a mask, pulled all the way up". As I turned to get in the other line, I heard her say, "I have to protect myself". I shouted, "from what? my high blood pressure? you won't catch it, I promise".

He spotted me and shook his head, as he passed by me, he muttered "monster". I pretended not to hear him. I was 3 back in line so he was circling around, desperate for me to spot him, itching for a confrontation so I made it a point not to make eye contact. When my mother in front of me was checking out, I was loading my groceries on the conveyer belt, he was in the next lane, the self-checkout and LOUDLY said, "I'm not going there next to that maskless idiot".

I left my cart in line, calmly walked up to him & said "NO!" He said, "of course you won't". He left & after I finished a 20 yr old came up to me & said, "I'm sorry you had to go through that, he doesn't know how to talk to women". I said, "Oh, you're so sweet. Honey, I don't let nitwits get to me. I gave it right back to him". I said to her, did I look scared to you? She laughed & said no. Then as I'm walking out, the manager joked, "causing trouble again?" I said, "You know it".

Today in Vons market, while about to get in line to check out a fat white middle age male with the cashier spotted me mask less, he made the 'disgusted' face, shaking his head. I knew why. I tried ignoring but he started complaining loudly about "the nerve", etc. He was just basking in his virtue, so much better than me. I just smirked, while looking right back at him. He called me an "asshat" and told me to put on my mask.
